We have a wonderful activities program. Our residents enjoy outings, crafts,
reading, board games and cards. We go on picnics by the lakes, to mountains,
to the theatre and out for meals We have a large, wheelchair-accessible passenger
van to shuttle our residents to community activities. Our goal is to make sure
that they have the range of cultural and recreational choices they want, including
individual and group activities, whether that means here at Blue Ridge or other
locations.
Family is important to our residents, so we support and encourage family participation
in all of our activities. Seniors that stay active tend to be happier and healthier,
and being surrounded by family and friends makes any event or special occasion
even more enjoyable. Our residents and staff also participate in community events,
such as Christmas parades and walks (Alzheimer’s and Race for the Cure). We also
have a handbell choir of residents, staff and volunteers.
