HMR Advantage Health Systems living center builds on record of improved clinical
outcomes in orthopedic rehab.
(Greenville, SC, September 20, 2007) Summit Place Living Center, part of the
HMR Advantage Health Systems regional network of living centers, is introducing
an expanded version of the company’s Advantage Transitions rehab program. The
program now offers an expanded orthopedic focus, providing patients three hours
of specialized rehab care seven days a week. Summit Place will continue to provide
rehab care for neurological, cardiopulmonary and other medical/surgical rehab
needs.
“We want to capitalize on our great working relationship with the surgeons at
the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, while developing relationships with
other orthopedic surgeons in the Simpsonville area,” said Amy Cajka, Executive
Director of Summit Place. “Expanding our orthopedic rehab services, particularly
our joint replacement protocols, lets us showcase our improved clinical outcomes
and provide the aggressive, individualized care our patients need.”
Summit Place orthopedic rehab specialists have built an impressive record of
clinical outcomes with their patients, routinely restoring function and mobility
in shorter stays. “We specialize in helping our patients get back to their baseline,
whether that means going home or returning to their assisted living facility,”
said Ms. Cajka.
Although the Advantage Transitions program is a new name in the Upstate, the
living center’s rehab therapists have worked together for a long time. Bill Birmingham,
HMR Advantage’s Vice President of Development and Strategic Planning, sees the
working relationships between therapist and surgeon, and therapist and patient,
as the keys to the program’s long-term success. “The rehab and clinical team
at Summit Place have worked together for many years. Together, they’ve earned
the trust of the Upstate’s finest healthcare specialists and they repay that trust
on a daily basis with our patients.”
